Our review of Haddon Grove Farm Cottages
ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
There are ten cottages in all at Haddon Grove, sleeping between 2 and 10 people. All the properties are tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you’ll need for your stay. Two of the four bed properties – Slipper Lo and Buttercup Down – have lovely open-plan kitchen/dining areas, while many of the cottages have their own log burner for cosy autumn or winter evenings in. There are built-in BBQ facilities across Haddon Grove or you can order one for your own cottage. The largest property, the Farmhouse, sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms and boasts a huge kitchen and conservatory; the perfect place for an extended family gathering.
For an idea of prices, a family of four can stay at Haddon Grove in cosy Rabbit Hutch cottage in the summer peak for around £900/week, which we think represents excellent value for money. Farmhouse would cost £2800 for the same period, but clearly that’s a price you may be splitting between two or more families.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Haddon Grove has a delightful heated indoor swimming pool – great for a daily splash with the kids, and ideal entertainment if the weather isn’t great. There’s also an indoor games room and a children’s play area, along with lots of safe outdoor space to play in.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Haddon Grove has a tempting solution for mums and dads who don’t have the energy to cook at the end of a day sightseeing or enjoying the facilities – you can order delicious home-cooked pies (served with traditional northern mushy peas and gravy, and with a dessert too!) delivered to your door. You can also treat yourselves to luxury chocolates or champagne, and fire packs are available to buy so you can make the most of your cosy cottage log burner. While they aren’t within easy walking distance, there are a number of lovely village pubs within a short drive of Haddon Grove. Free WiFi is available thoughout and you’ll have shared access to useful facilities including a laundry room, secure bike store and a boot room – an ideal place for muddy walking boots or wet clothes!
