The cottages are well placed to explore the beautiful Northumbrian countryside with walking, cycling and outdoor pursuits readily available. The Roman forts of Housesteads and Vindolanda are nearby, and of course the famous Hadrian’s Wall. Picturesque Hexham with its shops, cafes, pubs and regular market is a short distance away.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
There are three cottages to choose from. The smallest accommodates four people in two bedrooms; the largest is big enough for 14 people in 7 bedrooms; while in between there’s an eight person cottage with four bedrooms. For those looking for a large family gathering, this would be an ideal space to book multiple properties close together.
The high quality accommodation here was recently converted from traditional barns and blacksmiths shops, and now offers impressive, comfortable and well-equipped self-catering holidays. Outside each property you’ll find a patio area with seating to enjoy the wonderful countryside views.
For an idea of prices, a week for a family of four in the summer holiday peak costs around £1150 (which we think is pretty good value); while a three night weekend break out of season can be yours for £480. A large group in the 14 person cottage can expect to pay £3310 during peak periods.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
There’s plenty of safe open space to enjoy in the garden at each of these cottages. And children of all ages will enjoy the setting on a working farm, with plenty of animals to watch.
The largest cottage, sleeping 14, benefits from a play area with pool table and separate TV; the ideal space for children or teens looking for a space to unwind by themselves.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
The private hot tubs at each cottage make for a relaxing space for mums and dads to sit back, watch the stars and enjoy a glass of fizz at the end of a busy day holidaymaking (and doubtless the children will enjoy the hot tub too!).
Log burners in each cottage mean you’ll have a cosy warm space to enjoy inside whatever the season.
Guests at the property often receive a welcome package including homemade cakes, which is a lovely touch and a Parent Friendly Stays favourite. And another excellent feature here is the local pub within walking distance; ideal for those nights when you don’t want to cook or fancy a local beer.
Travel cots and high chairs are available to borrow for those with younger children. WiFi is available throughout. Pets are not permitted in any of the cottages.
