The cottage is located in the pretty rural village of Parkham, which offers a local pub within walking distance. The famous coastal towns of North Devon are within easy reach including Bideford and the two-mile beach at Westward Ho! Or catch the ferry from Instow to Appledore with its pretty quay and several cafes. Further afield, Barnstable and Bude are also within driving distance for a family day out.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
The detached property offers spacious, modern accommodation set over a single floor (though there are a few steps). There’s a large living room with comfy sofas, smart TV, a cosy woodburner and patio doors onto the garden; a utility area with washing machine and dryer; an open plan kitchen/diner; and four bedrooms, including a master bedroom with super king size bed and ensuite. The large garden has a mixture of lawns and patios, with plenty of places for relaxing in the sunshine.
The cottage can accommodate eight people in total. For an idea of prices, a week long stay during the summer holiday peak costs around £3300 – but remember, the property is big enough to accommodate two families staying together or an extended family gathering with the grandparents. Out of season, you’ll find a week’s stay for under £1000 – incredible value if your children are young enough to enable a trip away during the term time.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
The cottage is large, spacious and child friendly, with plenty of place to run around and let off steam both inside and out. Children of all ages will enjoy a splash in the hot tub, while there’s also a converted garage offering an indoor games room with pool table and darts.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
There’s a lovely village pub within walking distance of the cottage, along with a village butchers, and a farm shop a five minute drive away. Mums and dads will enjoy the cosy log burner on chillier evenings, while the private hot tub in the garden provides a perfect relaxing spot at the end of the day.
We also really like the impressive and state of the art BBQ hut – what a wonderful place to enjoy a family meal as the sun sets.
Pets are welcome at the property (the enclosed garden is ideal for them) and WiFi is included.
IN SUMMARY…
This is definitely our kind of child (and pet) friendly holiday cottage – modern and spacious, Devon’s beautiful coastline nearby, and plenty of favourite facilities to occupy children and adults alike.
