Blackwood Forest is the perfect base for enjoying the family friendly attractions of southern England including Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Bournemouth beach, the South Downs, Peppa Pig Land, Birdland and Paultons Family Theme Park. Local attractions include Alice Holt Forest (with Go Ape), the new Forest, and the many walking and cycling trails of the nearby Hampshire countryside. A day trip to London is also entirely feasible with direct trains taking just an hour.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
Like other Forest Holiday sites, the accommodation at Blackwood Forest takes the form of a variety of attractive wooden cabins set in the beautiful 270-hectare beech wood.
There are Golden Oak cabins available with up to four bedrooms and sleeping up to 8 – well equipped with cosy log burning stoves in the living area and a private hot tub on the decking. There’s also a very special 5 bedroom Golden Oak treehouse, which sleeps 10, and with rope bridge joining the accommodation areas. Silver Birch cabins with similar facilities, and including some wheelchair-adapted cabins, are also available.
For an idea of prices, a week for a family of four in the summer holiday peak at Blackwood Forest costs from £2500. Ten person Golden Oak treehouse (big enough for two or three families to share) costs around £6800 for the same period. Short breaks are available throughout the year: for example, a three night stay in March for four people costs from £700.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Blackwood Forest is a superbly child friendly holiday location. Set in 270 acres, there’s a wealth of safe outdoor space for your little ones to explore, learn about nature and let off steam. The Hampshire countryside is on your doorstep with riverside and forest walks, hikes across the downs and quaint village pubs at which to stop off for refreshments. There is also an exciting children’s play area.
The park’s on-site Ranger offers a range of optional family friendly activities for a small additional fee including Mini Forest Rangers (forest games, beast hunting, forest crafts and so on), Forest Discovery (den building, foraging and toasting marshmallows) and Ultimate Forest Survival (shelter building, making fires, foraging for food) and guided walks followed by a tempting cream tea. There’s also a fun bear hunt discovery trail for you to explore in your own time as a family.
Additional family activities available include Go Ape tree top adventures, laser clay shooting, bike hire, archery, air rifle shooting and geocaching.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
There are a range of exciting extras available at Blackwood Forest to make your holiday even more special for mum and dad. These include deluxe welcome hampers, pizza night pack, burger night pack, in cabin spa treatments, champagne breakfasts, vegetable boxes, family feast deals, BBQ packs, traditional breakfasts and more! Meal times are also made simple with a quick visit to the Blackwood Forest retreat, whose child friendly menu will have something to suit all tastes.
As standard, all cabins come with a hot tub – perfect for that relaxing soak with a glass of fizz at the end of the day – and many also come with cosy log burner.
Pets are welcome in some of the lodges and WiFi is available. Travel costs, highchairs and bed guards can be hired if you need them.
