Cliff House Holiday Cottages are located between Pickering and Scarborough, on the edge of the famous North York Moors National Park. Family friendly days out are in abundance – from seaside towns like Scarborough and Whitby and the stunning beaches of the Yorkshire Coast to characterful market towns like Pickering and Malton and popular family attractions like the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Flamingo Land theme park.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
The self-catering holiday cottages at Cliff House take the form of converted farm buildings, offering the perfect balance of historic charm and character with modern comforts guaranteed to provide a comfortable, relaxing stay.
There are five cottages in total, ranging in size from Pear Loft – a romantic retreat perfect for a couple plus cot – to larger properties sleeping four in two bedrooms (The Granary), five (The Coach House) or six people (Orchard House). All the properties are well equipped with everything you’ll need during your stay, and those with stairs come with fitted stair gates to ensure the safety of younger guests.
The Coach House and Orchard House benefit from an open fire, while the Granary offers a log burner; a wonderful extra for those cosy winter evenings.
For an idea of prices, a week-long stay for a family of four during the summer holidays costs from around £1550 in The Granary. Six-bed Orchard House costs closer to £2500. Prices are obviously lower at off peak times, and short breaks are also possible.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Guests young and old will enjoy making the most of the indoor heated swimming pool at Cliff House Holiday Cottages. Timed slots are available for booking twice a day per cottage. There’s also a well-equipped indoor games room with pool and table tennis.
There’s plenty of safe open space over the two-acre site for youngsters to explore, play games, explore nature and build campfires in the woodland clearing. An outdoor play area includes a climbing wall, slide and an old Yew tree with a perfect hiding hole in the centre! The gardens offer several benches and picnic tables scattered about, ideal for a family picnic. There are also friendly resident ducks, chicken and fish, just waiting to be fed by willing volunteers! Note the attractive neighbouring woodland is perfect for a morning stroll but does feature a pond, so keep an eye on your little ones there.
Younger guests will love the convenient toy-lending library and large book collection, providing hours of entertainment and a helpful distraction when the rain comes!
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Parents will enjoy the abundance of modern comforts at Cliff House – from WiFi, smart TVs, luxurious cotton bed linen and Nespresso coffee machines to off-street parking and electric vehicle charging points.
There’s a handy on-site honesty shop selling essentials, drinks and sweets, and locally-made craft items. And those travelling with younger children will find all the necessary baby and toddler equipment available if you need it: high chairs, stair gates, children’s cutlery and so on.
The local village pub, both child and dog friendly, is just a three-minute walk away; so a tasty family meal out without the faff of cooking is easily possible! Or enjoy a relaxing drink in the afternoon sunshine.
Well behaved dogs are permitted to stay in all the properties at Cliff House, and the surrounding area is well-suited to dog walking with a number of options nearby.
