ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES

There are seven beautiful holiday cottages at Emerald Coast Gites, all converted from original nineteenth century farm buildings.  The cottages vary in size and style, accommodating between four and eight people. Le Pressoir is the flagship property on the site: a huge characterful gite (and former cider press) sleeping up to six people in three bedrooms, and with French windows leading onto both the central play area and a large private lawn.  Number Two, sleeping eight, is most suitable for larger families, or perhaps a trip away with the grandparents.

The complex also offers three deluxe wooden lodges, providing luxury glamping experiences with wooden decking terraces, fully heated accommodation, and comfortable bedrooms. La Garenne and La Taniere both sleep four (plus a cot) in two bedrooms.  La Ruche can accommodate up to six people with the addition of two extra campbeds.

For an idea of prices, a family of four staying at Emerald Coast Gites during the summer holiday peak can expect to pay around 1950 euros/week (£1640) in a two bedroom gite such as L’Ecurie; or 1870 euros (£1570) in a glamping lodge.  Those with younger tots able to stay outside of school holiday season will find much cheaper prices; for example, a two bedroom gite in early September can be found for just under £900.

PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES

There are some excellent food and drink options on offer to make mealtimes a doddle for visiting parents.  A daily delivery from the local boulangerie means that fresh croissants, pain au chocolat and warm baguettes are available for breakfast each day – just place your order the night before.  During peak season, speciality dinner nights run throughout the week including pizzas, crepes, Fruit de Mer and cheese and wine tasting; and in low/mid season, there’s a meal delivery service three nights a week bringing freshly cooked dinners right to your cottage’s front door.  Frozen children’s meals (with classic crowd-pleasers like spaghetti bolognaise and fish pie) mean you can still provide tasty and healthy home-cooked food for the little ones without expending too much effort after a busy day’s holidaymaking.

And here’s something we don’t see much at small holiday cottage complexes but absolutely love: an on-site private bar serving beer, wine and speciality cocktails – happy hour starts at 6pm every day.

The owners of Emerald Coast Gites offer a full concierge service throughout your stay, meaning mums and dads can easily book anything they need with the minimum of fuss: from family activities like surfing lessons or tree climbing to helpful parenting extras like a table at a local restaurant or a babysitter.

For those travelling with younger tots, there’s plenty of baby equipment available to borrow – from cots and booster seats to blackout blinds, toys and cutlery.  And all guests will appreciate the home comforts supplied in every property: robes for adults, ponchos for kids, and warm towels for everyone.

A handy onsite laundry room with free washing machines is great for keeping on top of the kids’ dirty clothes.

There’s even a welcome basket loaded with local produce waiting for each family’s arrival.
