Lower Elsford Farm is set in the heart of Devon within the beautiful Dartmoor National Park, which offers a wide range of fantastic child friendly days out – from family picnics to walking, cycling, pony trekking and exploring the area’s famous dramatic landscapes. Or travel slightly further afield to enjoy shopping in the cathedral city of Exeter, the naval city of Plymouth or the beautiful estuary villages of Salcombe and Dartmouth. Family attractions including Castle Drogo, Buckfast Abbey, South Devon Railway and Crealy Adventure Park are all within driving distance.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
There are four cottages to choose from at Lower Elsford Farm. Attractively converted from original farm buildings, the properties now offer modern and luxurious self catering holiday accommodation.
Each property sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms.
The cottages come equipped with everything you’ll need for your stay, and each benefits from a log burner perfect for cosy nights in. Each property also has its own private garden or patio area with picnic table seating and BBQ.
For an idea of prices, a week-long stay for a family of four during the summer holiday peak period costs from around £1700/week. Prices vary at other times of year, and short breaks are also possible.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
The swimming pool at Lower Elsford Farm is open 24/7 and provides the perfect place to enjoy a dip in the heated pool from early mornings through to evening swims. The pool opens onto a patio area ideal for a post-swim sunbathe or for parents to relax while the kids enjoy a splash.
The cottages benefit from a fabulous outdoor children’s play area with swings, climbing frame and slide, plus an outdoor table tennis table and a golf pitch and putt area. Little ones will particularly love the special Wendy House with table, chairs and play kitchen.
Indoor there’s also a fully equipped games room with pool table, table football, air hockey, a jukebox, games consoles and more. Plus, there’s a handy selection of books and DVDs to borrow.
Located on a working farm, there are often sheep grazing and chickens around, and children are welcome to help feed the latter.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
The 32 acres of safe, open farmland at Lower Elsford Farm provide the perfect environment for parents to encourage their children to enjoy some space and freedom in the natural environment. Magnificent views can be enjoyed stretching over Dartmoor to Hound Tor and Haytor Rocks, while local wildlife to be spotted includes badgers, foxes, deer and buzzards.
High speed wifi is available in all the cottages, and baby and toddler equipment is available to borrow. Note that dogs are not permitted.
Mums and dads will love the welcome hamper waiting to be discovered on arrival including a tempting Devon cream tea and homemade apple juice – a lovely parent friendly extra!
