Nethway Farm is tucked away in the peaceful Devon countryside near Dartmouth. The South West Coastal Path – the longest National Trail in the UK – is less than a mile away for scenic seaside walks, while beaches like Mansands are just a stone’s throw away. Family friendly attractions within easy reach include Dartmouth Steam Railway; Paignton Zoo; Splashdown Water Park; Woodlands Adventure Park and Babbacombe Cliff Railway.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
There are five self-catering cottages to choose between at Nethway Farm. All have been attractively converted from original farm buildings and now provide comfortable, cosy, high quality holiday accommodation perfect for families. Each property has its own unique character: five-bed Hyssop Cottage, for example, benefits from large farmhouse-style kitchen, patio doors onto an enclosed private terrace, and tempting lounge with log burner. All the cottages have their own enclosed patio area in addition to some additional open garden areas.
Varying sized cottages are available, with one property sleeping four people, two properties sleeping five and two sleeping six; all can also accommodate a cot if needed. Larger groups of friends or family can book several cottages, providing the perfect balance of shared relaxation and private space, and the gardens of Lovage and Hyssop can interconnect if you wish.
For an idea of prices, a family of four staying in Lovage Cottage – set in a quiet corner of the courtyard, and with a king-sized bedroom alongside a twin – costs around £1400 for a week during the summer holiday peak, or similarly during October half term. Or, for those with younger tots able to travel outside of school holidays, grab a four night midweek stay for just £600.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Nethway Farm is the perfect holiday environment for children of all ages. Always popular on Parent Friendly Stays, there’s a fantastic indoor heated swimming pool open from February to December; a large play barn with football/badminton/basketball area plus a games room with pool table, ping pong and table football; and a soft play area perfect for under-fives.
Child-friendly activities outside include a large wooden outdoor play area and trim trail, and there are ride-on tractors for budding young farmers to enjoy. Being a working farm children will also be excited to meet, feed and pet Nethway’s resident animals: feeding the goats, egg collecting and helping bottle feed the lambs in spring.
Nethway Farm also benefits from a wealth of attractive shared landscaped gardens and 38 acres of farmland to explore, providing a wealth of safe outdoor space to explore (including a one-acre natural rod – bring a rod if you fancy trying to catch a fish!).
If that wasn’t enough, cottages come with games, books, jigsaws, a TV and DVDs for indoor fun (dodging the rain perhaps!) while toys suitable for younger children and babies can also be supplied on request.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
Parents will enjoy the decked area just outside the playroom perfect for relaxing in the sunshine while the children enjoy themselves. Or, for autumn and winter stays, the cosy log burners in most of Nethway’s cottages (with free logs included) provide a great place to unwind in comfort with a drink at the end of a busy day.
Dogs are welcome to stay at Nethway Farm, and four-legged friends are well catered for with handy items including dog bowls, sofa throws, towels, poo bags and even treats supplied. There’s also plenty of safe, open space across the farm’s acres of fields perfect for allowing dogs off lead and allowing them (and the kids!) to let off steam.
Free WiFi is provided, and all the necessary baby and toddler essentials (stair gates, bed guards, high chairs) are available to borrow if needed.
IN SUMMARY…
What a superb place for a holiday this is! Lovely cottages, great facilities like the swimming pool and play areas, all the fun of the farm and its resident animals, and amazing beaches within throwing distance. We think Nethway Farm is a really great option for a Devon family holiday.
