There’s a wealth of child and family friendly activities on your doorstep when staying at Thorpe Forest. The world-famous network of rivers and lakes at the Norfolk Broads are on your doorstep – why not hire a boat for the day? – and the Breckland landscape offers a range of ideal locations for walking and hiking. The relatively flat landscape in the area is perfect for cycling holidays, with miles of trails for all abilities. Family friendly attractions in the area include Banham Zoo, Church Farm Rare Breeds Centre, Dinosaur Adventure, Bure Valley Railway and BeWILDerwood. The Norfolk coastline is also easily within reach.

ACCOMMODATION AND PRICES
At Thorpe Forest you can pick a lodge in a delightful open woodland glade or a secluded spot deep within the forest. Accommodation comes in various sizes, with the largest option – Golden Treehouse – sleeping up to ten people.
The standard lodge is a Golden Oak, which are available in 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedroom options sleeping between 2 and 8 people. Each comes with an inviting outdoor hot tub, towels for guests, robes in the master bedroom, a gas BBQ and a log burner in the spacious living area.
For an idea of prices, a summer holiday for a family of four in a two bedroom Silver Birch lodge costs from £2085.
CHILD FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
There are a range of Forest Ranger-led activities available at Thorpe Forest including Forest Discovery and Ultimate Forest Survival (shelter building, fire making, marshmallow toasting, foraging for wild food and so on) and Nocturnal Adventure (hoping to catch a glimpse of the local wildlife at night!). Mini Forest Rangers also offers short woodland walks with bug catching, games and forest crafts. Unique and memorable fun for all the family.
There are lots of other activities available for an additional charge: canoeing, field sports experience, Go Ape, Segway riding, quad trekking, archery, clay pigeon shooting, tree climbing, a Peter Rabbit trail and more.
Plus there’s an exciting play park for the children.
PARENT FRIENDLY HOLIDAY FEATURES
At the heart of Thorpe Forest is the Forest Retreat, home to the site reception and also the perfect place to grab lunch or a snack in the café, or a drink on the terrace. There’s also a handy shop with day-to-day essentials, drinks, local foods and crafts.
