Three Features to Expect in a Family Friendly Hotel
Not all hotels are going to be perfectly family friendly, but there are many options out there if you know where to look. You can often see if you have a family-friend hotel on your list by looking at the types of features it has. These are the three likely features you can expect if a hotel is great for a family with small children.
Don’t forget to check out our fantastic list of family friendly hotels if you’re ready to book a break of your own.
They Have Travel Cots and Family Rooms
One of the first things to check is the bed policy. Some hotels will offer family options, which often include double beds and one or two single beds. They may have a separate room that is connected to the main hotel room for children to sleep in. Another popular feature for beds is travel cots being available upon request, so you don’t have to worry about bringing your own.
Free Baby Features and Food Warming Options
Find out more about the restaurant connected to the family-friend hotel. If it is indeed great for children, there will be children’s menus and bottle-warming facilities. Some will even offer free baby features, like sterilisers and free baby food when adult meals are purchased, along with highchairs and children’s packs to keep kids entertained while waiting for their food.
Not all hotels will be able to offer everything, but just having highchairs, bottle/food jar warming facilities and kid’s menus is a sign that families are more than welcome.
Playrooms and Children-Only Zones
A family-friendly hotel will understand that parents would like an hour or two to themselves. That’s why they often have playrooms and children-only zones that are completely safe for all ages. Many of the playrooms are soft play options, and may even have staff members to watch children for half an hour or an hour.
It’s worth looking around at all the features of a hotel. They’re a good giveaway as to whether you’ve found a family-friend hotel or not. Not all the hotels will be able to offer all the three features above, but most will likely have a good collection of them.
